Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients:
5 cups apple slices, peeled
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
3 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 toothpick dips Lemon essential oil
1 toothpick dip Cinnamon essential oil
1 toothpick dip Clove essential oil
1 toothpick dip Ginger essential oil

Directions:
Combine apples, brown sugar, and water. Cover and cook 8 minutes. Blend flour and granulated sugar together, stir into apple mixture. Cook on stove top on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and essential oils. Taste mixture and adjust flavors, if desired.

Add to prepared pie crust, bake with streusel on top, or use as a topping for pancakes or French toast.
