Campfire Brownies in an Orange

Ingredients:
At least 1 orange per camper
Brownie or cake mix
Other ingredients needed for brownie or cake mix
Bowl
Sharp knife
Sturdy soup spoons
Heavy foil wrap.

Note:
Brownie mix will yield approximately 8-10 desserts.
Cake mix will yield approximately 12-16 desserts.

Directions:
Cut off the top of an orange about 1/3 way down (adults should do this). Set aside to be used later. Let the kids use sturdy soup spoons to scoop out the inside of the orange. Be careful not to rip or puncture the orange peel. While the kids are scooping, mix the brownie or cake mix according to package instructions. Let the kids fill their own oranges about 2/3 full. Place orange cap back on top and - while keeping orange upright - wrap orange in heavy-duty foil (as shown in picture). A couple layers work best, plus the "curly-cue" top serves as an easy way to pull the oranges from hot coals. Place finished wraps in a bed of coals (not on a flaming campfire), and cover until it is a mound of hot coals with just the "curly-cue" sticking out.
Cooking time is approximately 20-25 minutes, but this is variable depending on size of oranges and quality of hot coals. Check after 20 minutes to see if done. Remove from coals when done and let sit a few minutes for the foil to cool to touch. Let the kids unwrap their own orange-baked brownies and dig in!
