Tangerine Beef

Ingredients:
1/2 lb. thinly sliced beef
1 teaspoon sugar
1 Tablespoon water
Pinch of baking soda
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon green onion, chopped
1 cup snow peas
4 drops Tangerine essential oil, or to taste

Sauce Ingredients:
1/4 cup water
1 Tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 Tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon chili paste
1 teaspoon ginger juice (squeezed from crushed ginger)
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
4 drops Tangerine essential oil

Oil Ingredients:
3 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon corn starch

Directions:
In a small bowl, stir together all sauce ingredients with all oil ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix together beef, sugar, water, and baking soda. Marinate for 5 minutes. In a stir-frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil. Add garlic, green onions, and snow peas. Stir-fry until fragrant (about 1 minute). Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Stir in sauce until warm. Remove from heat. Add Tangerine essential oil to taste. Serve over brown rice.
